What you'll do

  • Architect and develop mission automation software to enable lights-out operation of a satellite constellation.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to lead anomaly response and conduct post-incident reviews.
  • Author clear operational procedures and runbooks for the operations team to resolve system issues.
  • Trace telemetry discrepancies across cloud services and ground systems to perform root-cause investigations.
  • Develop and maintain continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines for mission automation software.
  • Interpret design documents and interface control documents (ICDs) to define and validate automation features.
  • Navigate and reason through large, unfamiliar codebases spanning both embedded and cloud-based systems.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including production Python.
  • Experience developing automation for satellite constellations or fleets of autonomous vehicles/drones (preferred).
  • Ability to independently navigate and reason about large, unfamiliar code repositories spanning embedded and cloud-based software.
  • Hands-on fluency with Linux, Mac OS, cloud service APIs, modern command-line usage, and HTTP tooling.
  • Experience working with CI and production CD pipelines for a software service.
  • Experience using design documents and ICDs as foundations for an operational service.
  • Experience in areas such as embedded systems, RF/DSP concepts, or 24/7 operations team leadership (preferred).
