As a Software Engineer: Linux Driver and Kernel Developer, you will join the Silicon Validation team to develop Linux device drivers and user-land tests for exercising and validating various subsystems in complex SoCs. Your daily responsibilities include debugging and root-causing hardware and software issues. You will utilize the Linux graphics stack including Mesa, Vulkan, and OpenGL to validate GPUs with compute workloads. Relevant experience includes developing drivers for USB, networking, video, storage, or power management while maintaining Linux distributions for specific platforms.

What you'll do

  • Develop Linux device drivers and user-land tests to validate subsystems in complex SoCs.
  • Perform software bring-up on both pre-silicon and post-silicon platforms.
  • Implement Board Support Packages (BSP) for target hardware.
  • Debug and root-cause complex hardware and software issues.
  • Work with designers and architects to understand functional IP blocks and use cases.
  • Validate GPUs using graphics, compute workloads, and conformance suites.
  • Maintain and port Linux distributions for specific platforms.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in embedded Linux kernel development (preferred).
  • Experience in C programming (preferred).
  • Experience with ARM architecture (preferred).
  • Familiarity with the Linux graphics stack including Mesa, Vulkan/OpenGL, and GPU compute (preferred).
  • Experience validating GPUs with graphics and compute workloads or conformance suites (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Linux kernel internals, networking, or storage subsystem architecture (preferred).
  • Experience in device driver development for USB, networking, graphics, video, storage, or power management (preferred).
