What you'll do

Design, build, and maintain an operator-facing web application including rack views, dashboards, and work orders.
Develop backend services and REST APIs in Python using FastAPI to expose inventory and device actions.
Build and extend a pipeline engine to handle stage ordering, retries, and parallel fan-out across devices.
Create and maintain CLI tools and a command router to dispatch actions by customer and device type.
Own the schema and data access layer for the inventory database to ensure a single source of truth.
Integrate with vendor APIs and device CLIs over SSH for heterogeneous hardware like servers and switches.
Implement role-based access, audit logging, and secure credential handling for all production services.
Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests while mentoring junior engineers and interns.

What we're looking for

Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
3+ years of hands-on Python development building production applications, services, or tooling.
Experience designing, building, and supporting REST APIs and web applications in production.
Experience designing and maintaining relational database schemas and the associated data access layer.
Experience deploying and supporting services on Linux in production.
Experience integrating with external systems through APIs and device interfaces, including REST, SSH/CLI, or similar technologies.
Experience writing automated tests and shipping through Git-based code review.
Experience with Ansible, Paramiko, Netmiko, Kea DHCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Prometheus, or Grafana (preferred).
