As a Software Engineer III - Data Engineer/Applied AI (LLMs) within the Asset & Wealth Management team, you will serve as a core technical contributor in an agile environment to build and deliver secure, scalable technology products. The role requires proficiency in React or Angular with TypeScript for the frontend, and Python, Java, or Kotlin with REST or GraphQL for the backend. You will utilize Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Snowflake, and AWS for data engineering, alongside containerization and CI/CD practices while applying RAG, embeddings, and guardrails within LLM workflows.

What you'll do

  • Write secure, high-quality code using at least one programming language with minimal guidance.
  • Develop and maintain an agentic production data platform with full-stack application ownership.
  • Build autonomous agents and MCP servers to enhance product capabilities and deliver business value.
  • Utilize enterprise-authorized AI coding tools for code generation, refactoring, and automated testing.
  • Validate all AI-generated outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
  • Analyze large, diverse datasets to identify problems and support decision-making for stable application development.
  • Implement AI-first development practices using Claude Code and other LLM-based technologies.
  • Manage the full software development lifecycle including CI/CD, containerization, and observability.

What we're looking for

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools to code, test, troubleshoot, and document while validating outputs.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and security requirements.
  • Proficiency in frontend technologies like React or Angular with TypeScript.
  • Proficiency in backend languages such as Python, Java, or Kotlin with REST or GraphQL.
  • Experience with Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Snowflake, and AWS for data engineering and platform development.
  • Experience with containerization, CI/CD, observability, and controlled release practices.
  • Expertise in applied AI with LLMs including Claude Code, RAG, embeddings, and agent tool calling; financial services experience (preferred).
