What you'll do

Develop and optimize code for high-scale distributed file systems and storage services.
Perform performance measurements and analysis of storage services under various conditions.
Design technical documentation and identify dependencies for specific product areas with minimal oversight.
Ensure new features meet strict availability, security, and reliability targets through cross-team collaboration.
Break down large project requirements into smaller, estimable work items for development.
Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) to monitor systems and resolve service degradations during on-call shifts.
Implement improvements for the observability, efficiency, and performance of products at scale.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 2+ years of experience coding in C, C++, or Java (or equivalent).
At least 1 year of experience in software engineering practices with a solid foundation in data structures and algorithms.
Strong debugging, testing, and analytical skills are required.
At least 1 year of proficiency in Storage, File-Systems, Distributed Systems, Operating Systems, Networking, or Applications at scale.
Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
Master's Degree and 2+ years experience with C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python (preferred).
Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years experience with C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python (preferred).
At least 1 year of proficiency in building and operating services at scale (preferred).
