Software Engineer, Back-End

What you'll do

• Design and build backend features and REST APIs using Java, Kotlin, and Spring Boot.
• Write clean code and comprehensive unit and integration tests using JUnit.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues by analyzing distributed logs and request flows.
• Act as a subject matter expert for a specific platform domain to design scalable functions.
• Author technical documentation including API contracts, data models, and Confluence runbooks.
• Manage data flows across microservices using PostgreSQL, Neo4j, Redis, and RabbitMQ.
• Participate in peer code reviews to ensure compliance with team conventions and standards.

What we're looking for

• 3–5 years of professional backend, platform, or systems engineering experience within a high-growth environment.
• Strong development experience using Java, Kotlin, or a comparable enterprise JVM language.
• Practical exposure to frameworks like Spring Boot.
• Solid experience building, owning, and maintaining production-grade REST APIs with an emphasis on versioning and contract stability.
• Practical experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL, including complex queries and schema migrations.
• Demonstrated ability to independently debug distributed backend services using logs, Datadog, GitLab Ultimate, Sonarqube, and Wiz.
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Claude Code.
• Experience with Go, Neo4j, RabbitMQ, Redis, or building multi-tenant B2B SaaS applications (preferred).
