What you'll do

  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.
  • Guide modernization efforts by integrating legacy systems with distributed systems or cloud platforms.
  • Design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions in collaboration with enterprise architects.
  • Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables for mainframe-related initiatives.
  • Perform coding, testing, and debugging to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
  • Lead incident management and root cause analysis for production issues while providing on-call support.
  • Implement security best practices for data handling, access control, and audit logging.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to best practices.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 4-7 years of experience in application development.
  • 5+ years of experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.
  • 5+ years of experience maintaining high volume batch workloads and supporting OLTP.
  • 3+ years of payments experience.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is preferred.
