What you'll do

Develop and deploy the FAA’s Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) system to improve air traffic management.
Manage the full lifecycle of Linux systems from bare metal to operational deployment across multiple environments.
Automate infrastructure and build orchestration using Ansible playbooks, Python scripts, and Bash.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and manage CI/CD pipelines for mission-critical systems.
Provision physical hardware and manage virtual machine lifecycles using VMware and KVM.
Configure network components including VLANs, IP schemes, and switch configurations.
Travel to airport locations to support system deployments and provide hands-on technical problem solving for FAA customers.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
4+ years of proven experience in Software Engineering.
Deep experience with Ansible playbooks, roles, custom plugins, callbacks, and inventory systems.
Strong Python scripting, automation, and tool development skills.
Proficiency in Bash/Shell scripting for complex build orchestration and system automation.
Linux system administration experience including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and full lifecycle management.
Experience with container technology such as Podman/Docker and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
Ability to pass a government security investigation for access to classified information.
