As a Principal Software Engineer on OCI’s Edge Security team, you will lead the design and development of cloud-scale backend services for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's Web Application Firewall (WAF) platform. What you'll do

Lead architecture and delivery of cloud-scale backend services for OCI's WAF platform.
Design and evolve policy management, rule evaluation, threat detection, bot mitigation, traffic inspection, and security analytics platforms.
Build distributed systems to inspect high volumes of HTTP/HTTPS traffic with low latency and reliability.
Drive technical strategy for application security services in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Establish operational excellence through SLOs/SLAs, incident response processes, and continuous service improvement.
Lead automation initiatives across the software development lifecycle including CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

What we're looking for

7+ years of experience building production software systems in cloud or SaaS environments.
Proficiency in Java, Go, Python, C++, or Rust for developing large-scale distributed services.
Expertise in designing scalable and resilient distributed systems with strong knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS protocols.
Experience building customer-facing platform services with high availability and performance requirements.
Proven experience with cloud-native technologies like containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
Strong background in software engineering fundamentals including secure development practices and observability solutions.
