What we're looking for
4+ years of experience building, operating, and scaling distributed storage systems or large-scale stateful systems like distributed databases.
Ability to design, author, understand, and release code in Go (preferred), Java, Python, or Rust.
Good understanding of Linux block, object, and file storage solutions such as LVM, XFS, ext4, S3, Ceph, Gluster, and NFS.
Understanding of Linux internals, standard networking protocols, and distributed systems.
Experience with provisioning, data migration, backup and recovery, at-scale testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
Acute drive to automate manual operations and improve them through repeated iteration (preferred).
Awareness of best practices for deployment of storage systems including physical/virtual models, change management, failure domains, and hardware lifecycle management (preferred).
Experience with configuration management or software delivery platforms like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or Spinnaker (preferred); Kubernetes; and various database types (preferred).
