Site Reliability Engineer Intern

What you'll do

• Monitor the health of production systems and services 24/7 to ensure continuous reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues effectively for IBM clients.
• Provide initial assessments and workarounds for production issues in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Deploy services and configuration changes at enterprise scale using CI/CD tools.
• Apply security patches and perform system upgrades to maintain infrastructure.
• Automate production environment changes to streamline processes and reduce manual toil.
• Manage day-to-day operations including alert management, incident support, and migration tasks.

What we're looking for

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
• Knowledge of system monitoring, observability, and troubleshooting for optimal performance.
• Knowledge of automation for production environment changes and streamlining processes.
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
• Experience in day-to-day operations, alert management, incident support, and migration tasks.
• Knowledge or experience with Python, Go, or Bash scripting.
• Familiarity with cloud providers such as IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge or experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift environments (preferred).
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or ArgoCD (preferred).
• Experience creating alerts and dashboards using Instana, New Relic, Grafana, or Prometheus (preferred).
• Interest in or experience with SQL, NoSQL, and data streaming technologies (preferred).
