The Site Reliability Engineer - Apple Data Platform (ADP) joins the Data Platform Site Reliability Engineering team to manage infrastructure and applications on bare-metal and cloud computing platforms. This role involves delivering data processing, governance, and storage for global products like Apple Music and Maps. You will collaborate with partner engineering teams to ensure high availability, performant data analytics, and consistent incident management across geographically distributed data centers. Key responsibilities include automating manual operations, managing distributed systems, and monitoring observability metrics. Required skills include proficiency in Go, Python, or Java, and experience with Kubernetes, Linux, and standard networking protocols. What we're looking for
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
1-3 years of SRE, software development, or production operations experience in a large-scale environment.
Proficiency in authoring and releasing code in Go, Python, or Java using common configuration management and software delivery platforms.
Experience operating production applications including performance testing, HA, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and managing distributed systems on internal and public cloud infrastructure, principally Kubernetes.
Understanding of the Linux Operating System, containers and virtualization, standard networking protocols, and components.
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills using the scientific method.
Proficiency with the architecture, deployment, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of open source data analytics or governance technologies such as Flink, Hive, Hadoop/HDFS, Trino, and/or Druid (preferred).
Proficiency in managing applications and infra on AWS, GCP and Ali Cloud (preferred).
