As a Silicon Photonics Design Engineer - Biophotonics, you will join an optical science team to develop novel integrated photonic devices that enable breakthrough sensing applications in products. Working within a multi-disciplinary group, you will be responsible for the design, simulation, and characterization of silicon photonic components to facilitate the next generation of photonic integrated circuits. Your daily work involves demonstrating new photonic components and sensor concepts while utilizing expertise in optoelectronics, photonics, and semiconductor devices. You will perform modeling of passive and active components on SOI platforms, including MUX/DeMUX components, circuit simulation, high order mode mitigation, and polarization management. The role requires proficiency in Python, Matlab, or JMP for statistical data analysis and a deep understanding of optical measurement techniques to characterize device performance within the biophotonics domain.
