Silicon Photonics Senior Designer
The Silicon Photonics platform team is seeking an experienced designer to lead the design, simulation, and characterization of silicon photonic devices and integrated components for next-generation optical platforms supporting 100G/200G/400G per Lambda solutions. You will own waveguide modeling, device design, and measurement validation for critical building blocks like high-speed modulators and photodetectors across transmit and receive paths. Your daily work involves performing trade-off studies to improve platform performance, converting product requirements into technical specifications, and troubleshooting complex issues through root cause analysis. The role requires expertise in silicon photonics device design, advanced waveguide modeling, optical coupling, and the characterization of photonic devices. This position addresses critical infrastructure challenges by developing high-speed optical transceivers and Co-packaged Optics to support AI/ML workloads and next-generation data center architectures within a high-performance networking environment.
