This position focuses on solving technical challenges within distributed filesystems to provide scale and efficiency for a large-scale cloud platform serving millions of users.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop high-quality, production-ready code for a multi-tenant SaaS cloud distributed filesystem.
  • Build new components and frameworks to provide scale and efficiency in evolving market technologies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team.
  • Resolve complex technical issues to improve system scalability, robustness, and availability.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure services remain operational and highly available.
  • Automate deployment processes and contribute to scrum activities like planning and retrospectives.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for use by other engineers and team members.

What we're looking for

  • Mastery in systems design and platforms with at least 6 years of software development experience.
  • Deep knowledge of designing distributed filesystems in both on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming, scripting languages (Java, Python), and strong SQL skills.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as Postgres or Trino.
  • Experience developing SaaS products over public cloud infrastructure including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Proven experience designing and developing distributed systems at scale.
  • Proficiency in queues, locks, scheduling, event-driven architecture, and workload distribution.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and knowledge of software development best practices.
