Senior Technical Publications Manager

What you'll do

• Manage and dispatch work to a team of technical writers to meet program delivery requirements.
• Produce accurate user manuals, maintenance guides, checklists, and release notes for government customers.
• Partner with engineers and subject matter experts to identify user workflows and bridge information gaps.
• Track performance metrics and provide status reports to ensure contract deliverables are on time and in the correct format.
• Develop training programs and processes to enable other departments to contribute to technical documentation.
• Manage the transition to scalable infrastructure, tools, and software for creating and maintaining content.
• Define requirements for authoring and publishing tools while maintaining style guides and documentation lifecycles.
• Identify project risks early and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure adequate resource allocation and mitigation.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of demonstrated excellence generating technical documentation.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering documentation.
• Experience building content in various tools including word editors and specialized authoring software like RapidAuthor or Arbortext.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills regarding technical subjects.
• Impeccable project management skills to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines independently.
• Must be eligible for Secret and higher security clearance (US).
• Ability to relocate to Costa Mesa, CA if not already local.
• Experience in Aerospace and Defense, S1000D, or MIL-STDs; military exposure; and experience leading teams on complex projects (preferred).
