The Senior Technical Marketing Manager - Confluent joins the Global Sales team to drive adoption of the Confluent Data Streaming Platform. You will translate complex distributed systems concepts into compelling technical stories, demos, and assets for developers, architects, and executives. Key responsibilities include building flagship reference solutions, authoring high-quality technical content like whitepapers and lab guides, and delivering live workshops. You will specifically champion the Streamhouse architecture, showcasing how the platform handles real-time AI and agentic use cases. Required expertise includes hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Spark Structured Streaming, and Kubernetes. You must be proficient in Java or Python and SQL to write production-quality code. This role solves the challenge of providing governed, real-time business context for production applications and modern AI workflows.
Design and implement reusable technical demos and reference solutions for the Confluent Data Streaming Platform.
Author high-quality technical content including blogs, whitepapers, lab guides, and how-to videos.
Translate complex distributed systems concepts into clear narratives for both engineering and executive audiences.
Develop Streamhouse messaging, reference architectures, and proof points for real-time AI and data use cases.
Deliver live workshops, hands-on labs, webinars, and conference talks to demonstrate product capabilities.
Enable sales and field teams by providing technical training, demo kits, and playbooks.
Build benchmarks and competitive battlecards to articulate product differentiation against alternative platforms.
Synthesize practitioner feedback from customers and the field to identify product gaps and roadmap priorities.
What we're looking for
5+ years of experience working with streaming and data technologies like Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, or Spark Structured Streaming.
5+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s), Docker, and other container platforms.
Solid software engineering skills including proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python) and strong SQL skills.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native architectures.
Demonstrated ability to create engaging technical content and simplify complex concepts for both practitioner and executive audiences.
Experience working directly with customers, sales, or solution teams as a technical marketer, solutions architect, developer advocate, or sales engineer.
Deep hands-on experience with Confluent Cloud, Confluent Platform, or Apache Kafka at scale (preferred).
