What you'll do

Develop and implement tailored System Safety program plans aligned with MIL-STD-882E and customer requirements.
Conduct complex safety analyses including FHA, Fault Tree, SCFTA, FMECA, and System Safety Assessments.
Define safety requirements and collaborate with design teams to implement solutions across multi-system architectures.
Identify hazards, manage hazard tracking databases, and ensure effective risk mitigation strategies are in place.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert during Design Requirements Processes and Development Milestone Reviews.
Lead and triage corrective actions from RCCA investigations and Mishap Reports.
Create and implement System Safety processes to streamline design, manufacturing, and deployment operations.
Verify and validate risk reduction measures while ensuring compliance with military and industry standards.

What we're looking for

Minimum of 8 years of industry experience as a System Safety Engineer or equivalent engineering background.
B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
Experience with safety-critical hardware and software systems in the defense or aerospace industry.
Extensive knowledge of MIL-STD-882E and other relevant safety standards.
Proficiency in safety analysis techniques including FTA, FHA, SCFTA, and FMECA.
Experience establishing System Safety Engineering frameworks, including early-stage Design for Safety and Hazard Analysis.
Proven experience in failure investigation, risk management, and design review processes like PDR and CDR.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
