Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Apple Search & Knowledge Platforms

What you'll do

• Lead the development of efficient Generative AI models for summarization across various data types.
• Enhance summarization capabilities for world knowledge-seeking questions and real-time web page highlights.
• Develop state-of-the-art LLM-based generative, groundedness, and safety models for accurate summaries.
• Create sophisticated software frameworks for fast and cost-efficient on-device and server-side model inference.
• Integrate Apple’s ecosystem with advanced LLM infrastructure to deliver high-quality user experiences.
• Drive the product vision and strategy for delivering superior end-user summarization experiences.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of experience leading ML projects in NLP and generative AI models.
• Proven track record of delivering technology/products throughout the full ML lifecycle.
• MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, information retrieval, data mining, or related field.
• Strong background in LLM post-training, RLHF/RLAIF, reward model optimization, and engineering implementation.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for leadership roles.
• Excellent product vision and business acumen to manage long-term strategy.
