The Senior Staff Engineer – Technology Advisor Auto Finance joins a community of technical experts to define the future of banking in the cloud. Working with the Auto Finance Dealer team, you will serve as the senior most engineer and technical advisor to the Dealer CTO. Your daily responsibilities include evaluating existing software systems, envisioning new technologies, creating proof-of-concepts, and determining the technology strategy and execution approach. You will decompose complex problems into practical solutions while ensuring quality in technical design and implementation. The role requires expertise in large, distributed systems and public cloud technologies. You will utilize languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Swift to provide thought leadership, mentor internal talent, and drive consistency across the Auto Finance division.

What you'll do

  • Articulate and evangelize a bold technical vision for your specific domain.
  • Decompose complex problems into practical and operational solutions.
  • Ensure the quality of technical design and implementation across systems.
  • Serve as an authoritative expert on performance, scalability, and operability.
  • Create proof-of-concepts to validate new technologies and methods.
  • Determine the technology strategy and execution approach for the Auto Finance Dealer team.
  • Mentor and coach the engineering and product community to strengthen their technical expertise.
  • Create and share code samples, blog posts, and other materials to spread knowledge.

What we're looking for

  • At least 9 years of experience in Software Development.
  • At least 5 years of experience with large, distributed systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience with public cloud technologies.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
  • 12+ years of experience in software development (preferred).
  • 10+ years of professional experience coding in languages like Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Swift (preferred).
  • 10+ years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development (preferred).
