Senior Staff Data Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and maintain ingestion, ETL, and activation pipelines for multi-billion event datasets.
• Optimize data workflows for latency, reliability, and scalability in cloud-native environments.
• Modernize legacy ad-tech systems into open, lakehouse-based architectures using Iceberg, Delta, or Hudi.
• Implement observability, data lineage, and automation frameworks to reduce technical debt.
• Partner with Data Science teams to operationalize machine learning models for forecasting and personalization.
• Ensure downstream data delivery to ad servers and identity systems is low-latency and privacy-compliant.
• Act as a domain expert in distributed systems and big data engineering to set technical standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices across global engineering teams.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• PhD preferred for advanced expertise in distributed systems or statistical optimization.
• 12+ years of experience designing and operating enterprise-scale data platforms with high-throughput pipelines.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms.
• Experience with open table formats such as Iceberg, Delta, or Hudi and distributed compute tools like Spark, Flink, or Presto.
• Deep knowledge of streaming systems including Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub/Sub for low-latency ingestion.
• Proficiency in CI/CD, automation, observability, and governance frameworks for enterprise-grade data engineering.
• Familiarity with advertising workflows including forecasting, yield optimization, identity, and campaign execution.
