Senior Specialist, Optical Engineering

What you'll do

• Conduct thorough testing and alignment of complex optical systems within a lab environment.
• Perform detailed receiving, cleaning, and inspection of optical components to maintain system integrity.
• Troubleshoot activities and verify system requirements to ensure compliance and functionality.
• Support optical design and modeling efforts with a focus on hands-on application and testing.
• Participate in systems trade studies and vendor assessments through practical evaluation and experimentation.
• Document processes and technical information to facilitate effective team communication.

What we're looking for

• Must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience, a graduate degree and 4 years of experience, or 10 years of experience without a degree.
• 4 years of experience in hands-on optical alignment, testing, and inspection.
• Experience with Zemax and/or Code V optical software for design and analysis purposes.
• Experience with MATLAB for data analysis and automation of testing procedures (preferred).
• Familiarity with FRED or similar stray light analysis software (preferred).
• Experience with metalens design and manufacturing (preferred).
• U.S. citizens.
