Senior Specialist, Electrical Engineering joins the Strategic Missions Division to perform complex electronics design and analysis. Working within an integrated product team, this individual will develop circuit card assemblies (CCA) involving digital, power, analog, and mixed-signal designs. Daily responsibilities include schematic capture, functional and block diagram generation, and creating electrical wiring diagrams while meeting project cost and schedule milestones. The role requires designing circuits with Xilinx FPGAs, TI DSP processors, Freescale or Intel processors, microcontrollers, CPLDs, and various memory types like DDRx. Technical requirements include experience with HDI, Meg6, and back drilling technologies, as well as hardware debugging using signal generators, logic analyzers, and digital oscilloscopes. The position focuses on solving technical challenges in the defense sector by developing high-speed memory interfaces and network protocols for mission-critical systems.
Perform electronics design including schematic capture, functional diagrams, and electrical wiring diagrams for digital, power, and mixed-signal systems.
Design complex circuit cards featuring A/D, D/A converters, processors, I/O communication, and programmable logic like FPGAs and CPLDs.
Execute the full digital CCA design process from requirements generation and preliminary design to test plan development and integration.
Integrate high-speed memory interfaces (DDRx) and utilize advanced board technologies such as HDI, Meg6, and back drilling.
Utilize schematic software suites for constraint-driven layout, simulation, and timing analysis of circuit card designs.
Perform hardware debugging using signal generators, logic analyzers, and digital oscilloscopes.
Manage project cost and schedule milestones while participating in key customer reviews.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience, a graduate degree and 4 years of experience, or 10 years of experience without a degree.
Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
Experience in electronics design including schematic capture, functional/block diagrams, and electrical wiring for digital, power, analog, and mixed-signal designs.
Proficiency in designing circuits with Xilinx FPGAs, TI DSPs, Freescale or Intel processors, microcontrollers, CPLDs, and various memory types.
Experience with board technologies such as HDI, Meg6, and back drilling.
Ability to design high-speed memory interfaces (DDRx).
Experience with high-speed memory and network interfaces and protocols (preferred).
