The Senior Specialist, Electrical Engineer joins the engineering team to develop L band RF systems, specifically focusing on military GPS electronics. The role involves deriving requirements from customer needs, defining solution architectures, and establishing requirements schemas to flow down to software, ASIC, and test groups. Key responsibilities include overseeing qualification test plans, performing root cause analysis, and managing design descriptions and verification procedures. The candidate must utilize skills in low and high frequency RF analog and digital circuit design, embedded hardware design, and FPGA design with an emphasis on digital signal processing. Required tools and technologies include Network Analyzers, Frequency Generators, Vector Analyzers, MATLAB/Simulink, P-Spice, Agilent ADS, Altium, and Ansys HFSS. The work addresses complex problems in GPS signal processing and anti-jam signal processing.
Derive technical requirements from customer needs and define the architecture for possible solutions.
Establish a requirements schema and link requirements to system specifications and hardware architecture documents.
Flow down applicable requirements to software, ASIC, and test groups to ensure end-solution realization.
Oversee the development of qualification test plans to ensure the architecture satisfies customer requirements.
Develop circuit designs, design descriptions, verification plans, and customer CDRLs to meet program schedules.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis and resolve design conflicts across cross-functional teams.
Execute design, build, integration, and test activities while verifying that products meet all requirements.
Provide project management reports and lead technical review presentations for customers and program leadership.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of relevant experience, Graduate Degree with 6 years of related experience, or 10 years of related experience without a degree.
Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
3+ years of experience with receiver, antenna, or radio design.
4+ years of hands-on experience working on RF circuitry in a lab environment.
1+ year of experience with embedded hardware design.
1+ year of experience with FPGA design with an emphasis on digital signal processing (DSP).
4+ years of experience demonstrating strong verbal and written skills.
