Senior Software Quality Engineer – CST – Lafayette, CO (Onsite) is a critical role within the Cranial & Spinal Technologies team supporting the AiBLE portfolio. This position focuses on ensuring software products meet quality, performance, and regulatory requirements throughout the entire software development lifecycle. You will lead quality engineering activities including verification, validation, and risk management while reviewing architecture, design documentation, and engineering changes to ensure compliance with safety standards. The role involves developing quality processes, monitoring metrics for continuous improvement, and managing design history files. Key technical competencies include knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971 regulations. Preferred skills include experience with artificial intelligence-enabled software, Software as a Medical Device, and proficiency in Python, C++, or MATLAB for data-driven testing. The work addresses the challenge of integrating advanced digital technologies into surgical planning and navigation systems.
Lead software quality engineering activities throughout the entire software development lifecycle including design, testing, and validation.
Ensure software products comply with internal quality systems, regulatory requirements, and product development standards.
Drive verification and validation activities to ensure traceability and alignment with system and software requirements.
Review architecture, design documentation, risk management files, and engineering changes for compliance with regulatory expectations.
Develop and maintain software quality processes, procedures, and standards to support compliant product commercialization.
Analyze and monitor quality metrics to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain design history files and validation records to meet quality standards and audit requirements.
Investigate and resolve software quality issues across both development and post-market activities.
What we're looking for
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a technical discipline and 4+ years of Software Quality Engineering experience.
A Master's degree and 2+ years of Software Quality Engineering experience.
A PhD with no minimum years of experience required.
Experience supporting software verification and validation activities within a product development environment.
Knowledge of software development lifecycle processes, software quality systems, and design control requirements.
Experience reviewing technical documentation, requirements, test evidence, risk assessments, and change controls.
Experience in the medical device industry or another regulated industry with software quality requirements (preferred).
Work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.
