Senior Software Product Manager, Strategic Defense

What you'll do

• Translate high-level strategic objectives and warfighter needs into detailed product roadmaps and technical specifications.
• Define autonomy behaviors, human-machine interfaces, and safety guardrails for automated decision-making systems.
• Manage software execution by sequencing workstreams, resolving cross-team dependencies, and holding stakeholders accountable to schedules.
• Communicate roadmap status and project goals to internal and external stakeholders while managing expectations.
• Represent the product in large-scale customer exercises, demonstrations, and discussions with business development teams.
• Conduct interviews with defense operators to gather insights and translate user needs into actionable requirements.
• Collaborate with test engineers to design rigorous scenarios that validate functionality and drive rapid iteration cycles.
• Monitor key metrics to measure autonomy performance, safety, and control behavior in operationally relevant conditions.

What we're looking for

• Must possess and be able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance (Top Secret preferred).
• 3-5 years of experience in software product management for technical areas like autonomous systems or AI/ML products.
• Working fluency in autonomy and controls concepts, including state estimation, planning, and closed-loop control.
• Foundational understanding of back-end web technologies and distributed systems.
• Demonstrated ability to drive software execution through planning, dependency management, and schedule accountability.
• Ability to travel up to 50% for discovery and testing purposes.
• Experience shipping autonomous systems, robotics, or mission autonomy software (preferred).
• Familiarity with AI safety, optimization problems, or defense/aerospace domains (preferred).
