Senior Software Engineer, Streaming Infrastructure

What you'll do

• Design, build, and operate large-scale CDC and batch export systems for all online databases.
• Develop and maintain the SpinalTap and DBExports platforms to move data to offline systems.
• Improve the reliability, performance, and efficiency of critical data movement infrastructure.
• Shape the architecture of the unified data movement platform during its development phase.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code for complex backend distributed systems.
• Debug and maintain production systems at scale to ensure high availability for internal customers.
• Participate in on-call rotations to maintain the operational health of the data platform.
• Deliver multi-month projects on time by working directly with partner teams and leadership.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience building and operating large-scale backend distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with streaming systems like Kafka and database change capture methods like binlogs or Debezium.
• Ability to own and go deep in a complex codebase.
• Experience maintaining, analyzing, and debugging production systems at scale.
• Ability to write clean, readable, testable, and maintainable code.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in a remote-working environment.
• Strong ownership and a track record of delivering projects on time.
• Experience building managed or multi-tenant platforms used by other engineering teams (preferred).
• Familiarity with MySQL/Aurora, schema evolution, or large-scale batch data processing (preferred).
