Senior Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and operate the S3-compatible API gateway to ensure low latency and high availability.
• Build production services on Cloudflare Workers and Kubernetes to handle high-throughput request traffic.
• Manage the end-to-end request path including authentication, routing, rate limiting, and error handling.
• Own projects from initial design documentation through implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Improve the reliability, performance, and observability of gateway systems while reducing operational toil.
• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents and write postmortems to improve standards.
• Integrate AI tools into daily workflows to accelerate development, debugging, and operational tasks.

What we're looking for

• Strong programming skills in Rust, TypeScript, Go, or similar languages.
• Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems on the request path with high reliability requirements.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure concepts including object storage, HTTP/API gateways, edge computing, or service-oriented architectures.
• Experience designing and operating high-throughput APIs involving authentication, routing, rate limiting, and backward-compatible evolution.
• Understanding of reliability and observability practices such as monitoring, alerting, performance tuning, and incident response.
• Ability to use AI tools extensively for development, debugging, and operational tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain technical decisions and coordinate across teams.
• Authorization to receive software or technology controlled under U.S. export control laws.
