As a Senior Software Engineer on the Storage Layer Services Team, you will join a newly formed group focused on re-architecting the MongoDB Cloud Storage Layer. What you'll do

  • Develop secure multi-tenant cloud-native storage solutions with automatic failover and zero downtime.
  • Implement and operate production-ready applications using Rust.
  • Diagnose and fix test failures and performance regressions in the codebase.
  • Lead development and project management for large, cross-team initiatives.
  • Design, implement, and support new features for Storage Layer Services.
  • Contribute to the operational excellence of running cloud services.
  • Collaborate with leadership to define product roadmaps.
  • Mentor new engineers on the team.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in programming, debugging, and performance tuning of distributed or highly concurrent software systems.
  • Strong systems fundamentals including multi-threaded programming and performance profiling.
  • Experience building, deploying, and operating multi-tenant cloud services with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Familiarity with database internals or experience building core components for data processing systems.
  • Hands-on experience developing performance-sensitive software.
  • Experience with large backend/compiled codebases, preferably in Rust or C/C++.
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Advanced degrees (M.Sc./Ph.D.) or hands-on experience in high-availability systems is a plus.
