As a Senior Backend Product Engineer at Ramp, you will join the Web Engineering team to build self-serve tooling that automates repetitive marketing workflows. Your day-to-day involves developing platforms like an integrated design system and AI-assisted content creation tools, collaborating closely with marketers and designers to identify high-leverage automation opportunities, and setting a standard for rapid yet quality-driven development. The role requires 4+ years of product engineering experience, ideally in building internal tools that reduce non-engineer workload, and familiarity with technologies such as Next.js, Sanity CMS, Python, and TypeScript. You should also have experience with AI/LLM-augmented workflows and a strong sense of ownership to drive the roadmap forward in a high-stakes environment where your work directly impacts inbound SQLs.
Own the end-to-end development of self-serve tooling that converts marketing requests into reusable platform capabilities.
Be opinionated about agentic and AI-augmented workflows to drive direction of the agent layer.
Partner directly with marketers, designers, and PMs to identify high-leverage workflows for automation.
Set the bar for velocity and quality by shipping at high speed without compromising brand integrity or production stability.
Reduce team's ticket burden by making marketing work self-serve through developed tooling.
What we're looking for
4+ years of product engineering experience in a high-growth tech company.
Proven track record of building internal tools or platforms to reduce repetitive workflows.
Strong product instincts and ability to prioritize essential features over unnecessary ones.
Experience with AI/LLM-augmented engineering, including agentic workflows and LLM-powered tooling.
High velocity and ownership in shipping products without supervision.
Cross-functional empathy and the ability to understand non-engineer workflows.
