What you'll do

Design and develop control plane software for security features using Go in Linux environments.
Build and maintain APIs and cloud-based configuration services to translate policy into infrastructure configurations.
Develop business logic for network configuration and orchestration involving VLANs, VRFs, VXLAN, and TCP/IP protocols.
Create software to manage and distribute configurations across distributed networking devices and systems.
Work with network configuration models and interfaces such as YANG to manage infrastructure.
Integrate third-party components and internal services into Cisco security platforms.
Participate in architecture discussions and technical execution for new security capabilities.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience, Master's plus 6 years, or PhD plus 3 years of related software engineering experience.
5+ years of development experience in languages such as Go or C++.
Experience developing software in Linux environments.
Experience developing software for networking or network infrastructure products with knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VRFs, VXLAN, and routing/switching.
Experience designing and developing APIs using REST, gRPC, or Protocol Buffers (preferred).
Experience working with Kubernetes-based applications and related concepts like CRDs, RBAC, and controllers (preferred).
Experience developing software for switching, routing, firewall, or other network infrastructure platforms (preferred).
Familiarity with network configuration and management technologies such as YANG, NETCONF, or telemetry (preferred).
