What you'll do

  • Define security requirements for hardware to ensure alignment with OCI's security posture and business needs.
  • Provide independent design consulting for complex compute systems by balancing technical features with security risks.
  • Perform hands-on security assessments and adversarial testing on complex compute systems to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Break down complex systems for analysis and coordinate team efforts to form holistic security assessments.
  • Assess risk from findings and threat models to identify and implement appropriate mitigation controls.
  • Communicate security risks and mitigation options to senior leadership while balancing business and technology goals.
  • Identify and drive improvements in security processes across the organization.
  • Conduct research on industry trends to educate the company and advance internal security knowledge.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in hardware security architecture, engineering, validation, planning, or a related area.
  • Demonstrated competency in hardware and firmware with a focus on security.
  • Competency with computer architecture.
  • Subject matter expertise in at least two areas including Root of Trust, x86/ARM platforms, GPU systems, BMCs, SmartNICs, or storage devices.
  • Knowledge of security concepts and standards such as Attestation (SPDM), cryptography, Secureboot, and DICE.
  • Ability to work with common programming languages including C, C++, Java, Python, Ruby, Go, and Rust.
  • Ability to read complex hardware system schematics and experience with reverse engineering tools and techniques.
  • Experience in specifying or designing hardware security features and identifying research for various classes of security bugs.
  • Ability to read and understand x86 and/or ARM assembly language (preferred).
  • Knowledge of TEE technologies, embedded communication interfaces, and virtualization technologies (preferred).
  • Familiarity with enterprise networking architecture and experience in large-scale DevOps or CI/CD environments (preferred).
