TL;DR · Senior Research Statistician, Discovery & Exploratory Analysis

JOB TITLE: Senior Research Statistician - Discovery & Exploratory Analysis (Hybrid) The Senior Research Statistician provides statistical support to research and development organizations for drug discovery, target identification, and biomarker exploration. Working under supervision, this role supports discovery researchers, translational scientists, and clinicians in designing, collecting, analyzing, and reporting multi-dimensional biomarker data from discovery through late-stage clinical development. Key responsibilities include performing pharmacodynamic and safety biomarker analyses, identifying prognostic markers, and developing companion diagnostic tests. The role requires integrating high-dimensional data from omics and imaging sources to support precision medicine. Candidates must possess an MS or PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics and have research experience in pharma or healthcare. Required technical skills include machine learning, predictive modeling, cross-validation, and random resampling techniques to manage overfitting and multiple testing control while ensuring scientifically sound data inference.

What you'll do

  • Design, analyze, and report biomarker and assay studies for early and late phase clinical trials.
  • Develop biomarker sections of clinical trial protocols and specific biomarker analysis plans.
  • Identify markers and signatures from omics, imaging, and other biomarker data for target identification and patient stratification.
  • Perform statistical analyses for in vitro, in vivo pharmacology studies, and human clinical trials.
  • Evaluate software appropriateness and propose novel statistical methodologies for scientific investigations.
  • Present data inferences and explain complex statistical concepts to non-statisticians.
  • Integrate high-dimensional data using machine learning, cross-validation, and multiple testing control methods.
  • Ensure all study results and conclusions are scientifically sound and consistent with statistical analyses.

What we're looking for

  • MS with 4+ years of experience or a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a highly related field.
  • Research experience in the pharma or healthcare space.
  • Experience with Machine Learning.
  • Experience with Biomarker Research (preferred).
  • High degree of technical competence and effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to identify data or analytical issues and provide solutions or seek help from others.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers and cross-functional collaborators to achieve higher performance.
  • Ability to integrate high dimensional data and familiarity with overfitting, multiple testing control, and predictive modeling methods.
