As a Senior Quantum Materials UHV Hardware Engineer, you will join our cutting-edge materials and device pipeline team, focusing on designing and building advanced ultra-high vacuum (UHV) deposition and processing systems. Your daily tasks include specifying and integrating pumps, gauges, manipulators, motion systems, heaters, cryogenic components, and in-vacuum diagnostics to achieve base pressures of ~10⁻¹¹ Torr. You will also design variable-temperature stages for materials deposition from 1000°C down to liquid helium temperatures, ensuring thermal stability and compatibility with sensitive quantum materials. Additionally, you will collaborate across multiple teams to evolve hardware platforms, support commissioning and troubleshooting, and leverage AI tools to enhance system monitoring and failure diagnosis. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree or PhD in relevant fields, hands-on experience with UHV systems, proficiency in 3D CAD tools, and expertise in cryogenic hardware and thermal design.
