What you'll do

  • Develop and optimize MBE growth recipes for semiconductor–superconductor heterostructures.
  • Execute experiments to control interfaces, composition, strain, and defect density in materials.
  • Design data-driven experiments linking growth conditions to device outcomes and properties.
  • Operate and maintain UHV MBE systems and in-situ diagnostics tools.
  • Apply AI/ML tools to improve experiment planning, analysis, and optimization.
  • Support integration of materials advances into device fabrication flows.

What we're looking for

  • PhD in Physics, Materials Science, or related field with 0-2 years experience, or Master’s degree with 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) or similar thin-film growth techniques.
  • Experience designing and executing controlled experiments for semiconductor–superconductor hybrid materials.
  • Proficiency in scientific programming and data analysis tools like Python.
  • Familiarity with low-temperature device characterization and materials-device correlations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
