As a Senior Quantum Engineer – Digital Control Systems at Microsoft Quantum, you will join the quantum control team to design and implement digital control infrastructure for cryogenic quantum systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities include developing timing-critical digital logic for real-time control and feedback of quantum hardware, performing FPGA implementation and validation, designing high-speed interfaces across multiple FPGAs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize system-level tradeoffs. You will work hands-on with FPGA platforms and cryogenic systems in a small, collaborative environment, contributing to the technical direction based on requirements and experimental results. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with FPGA design, including RTL development in Verilog or SystemVerilog, and expertise in high-speed digital interfaces and real-time control systems. This role requires a deep understanding of hardware constraints and system architecture at the intersection of quantum computing, AI, and advanced electronics.
