Senior Python Engineer, AI

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications and microservices to power core platform workflows.
• Build and integrate scalable APIs for internal and external consumers using distributed technologies like caching and message queues.
• Productionalize LLM-enabled features including workflow automation, intelligent routing, summarization, and data extraction.
• Design tool-calling services and orchestration layers for multi-step tasks involving AI models.
• Implement RAG-style retrieval patterns using embeddings, vector search, and ranking to improve accuracy.
• Develop evaluation frameworks and regression tests to ensure the quality and safety of AI outputs.
• Manage backend system architecture to ensure service reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Implement robust observability through logging, tracing, and metrics to troubleshoot production issues.

What we're looking for

• BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional Python development experience in production environments.
• Strong experience building asynchronous, API-driven microservices using frameworks like FastAPI and asyncio.
• Solid understanding of scalable backend architectures, distributed systems patterns (queues, caching, pub/sub), and REST APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployment workflows, and Git version control.
• Excellent English communication skills for cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced environments.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs and building robust, testable AI-enabled services (preferred).
• Familiarity with RAG patterns, vector databases, prompt design, and AI evaluation frameworks (preferred).
