Senior Product Quality Engineer
The Senior Product Quality Engineer joins the missile programs team to define, develop, and execute processes ensuring high-quality production for missile systems. This role involves driving product development through drawing reviews, quality planning, inspection, and verification of parts and sub-assemblies while managing the transition from new product introduction to sustainable manufacturing. The candidate will lead Root Cause and Corrective Action activities, manage Material Review Boards, and perform data analysis to improve product reliability across the lifecycle. Key technical requirements include experience with missile systems, PCBA, propulsion, and avionics, alongside proficiency in FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and GD&T. Candidates should be skilled in statistical tools like MatLab, JMP, or MiniTab. The role addresses critical manufacturing challenges for high-velocity vehicle systems, ensuring that complex defense hardware meets rigorous performance criteria and quality management standards.
Drive missile program development through quality planning, inspection, verification, validation, and qualification of parts and systems.
Resolve production ambiguities related to product maturity, process stability, and field performance.
Manage the transition from new product introduction to high-rate manufacturing and supply chain deployment.
Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities and Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
Analyze product health data to establish metrics for measuring quality and predicting performance.
Develop comprehensive quality plans and manage requirements for internal and external manufacturing processes.
Manage a team of supplier quality engineers supporting design and development activities.
Improve the Quality Management System by defining and refining required documentation and procedures.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field.
Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality on missiles or high velocity vehicle systems.
Working knowledge of missile system components including PCBA, avionics, propulsion, and lethality systems.
Knowledge of product development methodologies such as FMEA, APQP, PPAP (including MSA), and GD&T.
Experience driving quality requirements for test/measurement systems and knowledge of missile storage and maintenance.
Analytical skills in data mining, metrics generation, and statistical analysis tools like MatLab, JMP, or MiniTab.
Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
Master’s degree in a technical field (preferred); 6+ years of experience with quality systems for complex manufacturing; knowledge of AS9100/AS6500/ISO 9001 (preferred).
