Senior Product Manager, Underwriting

What you'll do

• Define and own the multi-year product strategy for the underwriting platform, rules engine, and AI workflows.
• Identify opportunities to modernize infrastructure to improve loss ratios, underwriting accuracy, and speed-to-market.
• Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle including discovery, prioritization, requirements, and post-launch performance.
• Translate complex business and risk requirements into actionable PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead cross-functional execution with Engineering, Data Science, Actuarial, and Underwriting teams to deliver platform initiatives.
• Drive the evolution of the rules engine to enable faster and more auditable changes to underwriting logic.
• Partner with Data Science to integrate risk models into the underwriting workflow for faster production deployment.
• Track and report on key metrics including loss ratio impact, underwriter efficiency, and automation rates.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of experience in product management, including full ownership of the product backlog and leading the software development lifecycle.
• Experience working with or building risk platforms, rules engines, ML models, and/or decision automation systems.
• Proven track record of bridging the gap between business and engineering by translating ambiguous problems into clear technical requirements.
• Demonstrated track record of directly improving risk and efficiency metrics like loss ratio and automation rates at scale.
• Ability to set a compelling vision for a technical domain while driving rigorous near-term execution.
• Strong stakeholder management skills to earn trust across business, technical, and executive audiences.
• Data-driven decision making with strong analytical skills to define success metrics and analyze results.
• Product management experience in insurance, financial services, or an adjacent industry.
• Experience with AI and agentic workflow platforms (preferred).
