Senior Privacy Engineer joins the Privacy Engineering team to build systems, tools, and technical controls that protect borrower, partner, and internal data across various products and platforms. This role involves designing and operating privacy engineering services for user control, data governance, anonymization, pseudonymization, retention, deletion, and auditability. The engineer will implement privacy-by-design patterns and data minimization controls within product architectures, data pipelines, and machine learning systems while building APIs, libraries, and developer tools to standardize enforcement across the technology stack. Key technical requirements include proficiency in languages such as Python, Go, Java, Scala, C++, or Rust. The role addresses complex challenges within an AI lending marketplace, requiring the translation of legal, compliance, and data protection requirements into technical specifications while managing risks associated with regulated financial services and large-scale machine learning systems.
Design and operate privacy engineering services for data governance, anonymization, retention, and auditability.
Implement privacy-by-design patterns and data minimization controls across products and machine learning systems.

Translate legal, compliance, and security requirements into clear technical specifications for engineering teams.
Conduct privacy reviews, data flow assessments, and technical risk assessments for new product capabilities.

What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of experience in software engineering.
Experience building and operating production software systems using languages such as Python, Go, Java, Scala, C++, or Rust.
Experience building APIs, microservices, libraries, or backend services for data governance, privacy controls, security controls, or data platform capabilities.
Experience with at least two privacy or security domains including anonymization, pseudonymization, data retention, deletion, lineage, access control, encryption, audit logging, or data minimization.
Experience translating privacy, security, compliance, or data protection requirements into software systems or technical workflows.
Knowledge of privacy-by-design principles, privacy-enhancing technologies, purpose limitation, consent, and data subject rights.
Experience with data governance tools, PII detection, threat modeling, or working in regulated environments like financial services.
