Senior Power Architect, SoC Power and Thermal Management SW

What you'll do

• Architect and implement SoC power and thermal control software modules for next-generation platforms.
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex, multi-team power and thermal issues.
• Define and execute software corrective action plans based on SoC and platform findings.
• Own end-to-end software work addressing power usage and thermal control for Client SoC product lines.
• Drive platform power and thermal goals across the full software stack, including firmware, kernel, and drivers.
• Serve as the primary technical interface to SoC partners to drive joint architecture decisions.
• Partner with OEM engineering teams to resolve platform-level power and thermal problems.
• Maintain program-level tracking of software status, risks, and mitigations for engineering leadership.

What we're looking for

• 12+ years of industry experience in system software.
• 5+ years of experience focused on SoC or platform power management software.
• Deep expertise in SoC/GPU/CPU power management including C-states, DVFS, power gating, and clock gating.
• Proven track record of delivering Power/Thermal software goals from pre-silicon architecture through post-launch optimization.
• Proficiency in C with a solid background in OS internals, device drivers, and real-time embedded OS.
• B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with Linux & Windows platform power management (preferred).
• Prior cross-company partnership on power architecture defining firmware/SW power interfaces (preferred).
