The Senior PI Administrator serves as a subject matter expert for OT systems, focusing on the AVEVA PI System and associated data integrations. This role involves configuring and maintaining data collection from SCADA systems, DCSs, RTUs, and PLCs into the AVEVA PI System while managing components like PI Data Archive, Asset Framework, Connectors, and Web API. The individual will design scalable workarounds, develop automation for system maintenance and telemetry feeds using Python, PowerShell, and .NET, and lead infrastructure upgrades. Key technical requirements include experience with TCP/IP networking, relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL, and industrial protocols such as DNP3, Modbus, and OPC. The role supports control center operations by maintaining real-time data collection infrastructure and managing project startups for power infrastructure assets.
Act as the subject matter expert for OT systems with a focus on the AVEVA PI System.
Configure and maintain data collection from SCADA systems, DCSs, RTUs, PLCs, and other sources into the AVEVA PI System.
Administer and support various AVEVA PI components including Data Archive, Asset Framework, Interfaces, and Web API.
Develop automation for system maintenance and custom telemetry feeds using Python, PowerShell, and .NET.
Lead investigation and resolution of complex issues affecting performance, reliability, and data availability.
Coordinate with IT stakeholders to implement infrastructure upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.
Manage onboarding activities for new project startups including point definition and system configuration.
Maintain technical documentation for all implemented solutions and integrations.
What we're looking for
Five or more years of experience administering enterprise-scale AVEVA PI environments including Data Archives, Collectives, Asset Framework, Interfaces, Connectors, Adapters, AVEVA Connect, Web API, and Vision.
Understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts, including identifying and troubleshooting communication issues.
Proficiency with programming and scripting languages such as .NET, PowerShell, and Python.
Experience administering PI Collectives and highly available PI System environments (preferred).
Experience with AVEVA Connect (preferred).
Experience with relational database systems like Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL (preferred).
Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) such as Emerson DeltaV or Ovation (preferred).
Experience with industrial communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, OPC) and automation devices (preferred).
