As a Senior Networking Professional Services Engineer within the Service Delivery organization, you will serve as a resident engineer supporting MX and Routing Director platforms in a large-scale service provider environment. You will collaborate with internal teams and customers to plan network deployments, develop implementation plans, and perform solution testing. Your role involves acting as the primary point of contact for operational issues, managing Juniper technical assistance Center cases, and providing detailed documentation and root cause analysis. The work requires deep expertise in routing and switching technologies including EVPN, Multicast, OSPF, BGP, RSVP, LDP, Pseudo wires, L2VPN, L3VPN, MPLS Traffic Engineering, and tunneling protocols like GRE and VXLAN. You will utilize tools such as Python, Ansible with Jinja2 templates, and automation methods including XML API, NETCONF, REST API, and gRPC to resolve complex hardware and software issues.
Support MX and Routing Director platforms in a large-scale service provider environment.
Plan network deployments and develop comprehensive implementation plans for customers.
Perform testing of network solutions and provide technical documentation.
Act as the primary point of contact for resolving operational issues.
Manage Juniper Technical Assistance Center (JTAC) cases from opening to final resolution.
Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for hardware and software problems.
Deliver formal and informal technology briefings and training sessions.
What we're looking for
US Citizenship is required.
Must possess a Top Secret/SCI with CI Poly clearance.
Deep understanding of routing and switching technologies including EVPN, Multicast, OSPF, BGP, RSVP, LDP, Pseudo wires, L2VPN, L3VPN, MPLS TE, and tunneling protocols like GRE and VXLAN.
Experience in engineering design, operation, and support within a large-scale ISP environment.
Mastery of topologies and methodologies for WAN transport methods.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment, manage JTAC cases, and provide root cause analysis.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Juniper or other vendor certifications (preferred); Automation and DevOps knowledge including Python, Ansible, and various API access methods (preferred).
