Senior Network Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and lifecycle management of refinery business LAN infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain LAN standards, configuration baselines, cabling practices, and resiliency patterns.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex LAN incidents, performance concerns, and high-impact outages.
• Troubleshoot Layer 1 and Layer 2 issues involving cabling, fiber, switch stacks, VLANs, and port security.
• Support Layer 3 integration including routed uplinks, gateways, DHCP relay, and firewall interfaces.
• Lead LAN refreshes, business expansion projects, construction support, and remediation of aging infrastructure.
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to strengthen segmentation, NAC readiness, and configuration compliance.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation including logical/physical diagrams, switchport records, and fiber routes.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5 or more years of relevant network engineer experience.
• Deep expertise in Layer 1 infrastructure including structured cabling, fiber standards, and testing.
• Advanced Layer 2 switching expertise including VLANs, spanning tree, and switch stacking.
• Experience designing and documenting LAN architectures for large or complex environments.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise switching platforms such as Cisco or Arista.
• Proven ability to lead network projects, hardware refreshes, and vendor coordination.
• Preferred: Strong working knowledge of Layer 3 integration for LAN environments.
• Preferred: Experience with regulated, refinery, or industrial environments and LAN cybersecurity controls.
• Preferred: Experience with network monitoring, automation, scripting, and packet analysis.
• Preferred: CCNP, CCNA, BICSI, FOA, CompTIA Network+, Security+, or equivalent certifications.
