You will collaborate with electrical engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure production readiness for complex electromechanical assemblies. The role addresses the critical challenge of providing reliable, scalable hardware solutions for vehicle architectures by solving problems related to thermal management, EMI mitigation, and durable connector-to-housing integration.

What you'll do

  • Lead the mechanical design and development of ECU headers and connector interfaces for power, high-speed data, and RF signals.
  • Own the end-to-end design of connector components including housings, terminals, bus bars, and sealing solutions.
  • Select and specify materials for conductive elements, insulators, and housing components based on environmental and manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop sealing strategies to ensure water management and robust performance in automotive environments.
  • Create high-quality 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using Siemens NX and Teamcenter for all connector hardware.
  • Apply GD&T and tolerance stack analysis to ensure accurate fit, assembly robustness, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Coordinate with electrical and PCB engineers to integrate connector pinouts and mounting strategies into electromechanical systems.
  • Execute design verification plans including proof-of-concept testing, fit checks, and seal evaluations.

What we're looking for

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 6-10+ years of mechanical design experience in complex electromechanical assemblies, automotive electronics, ECU hardware, or connectors.
  • Demonstrated experience designing headers and connectors for power, high-speed signals, communication, RF, and I/O.
  • Hands-on experience with connector terminal design, bus bar systems, and sealing solutions for connector-to-enclosure interfaces.
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX and Teamcenter to create 3D models, drawings, product structures, and BOMs.
  • Strong competency in GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mechanical fundamentals like solid mechanics and heat transfer.
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes for conductive components, insulating parts, molded parts, and seals.
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
