What you'll do

  • Design and develop rechargeable energy components including batteries, capacitors, and feedthroughs for implantable medical devices.
  • Establish component requirements, specifications, verification plans, and qualification strategies aligned with product needs.
  • Translate device and manufacturing requirements into specific component-level design inputs and engineering requirements.
  • Perform engineering analysis, modeling, simulation, and experimental testing to evaluate component performance and reliability.
  • Execute characterization and validation activities to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct technical investigations and root cause analyses for component and system performance issues.
  • Support new product development programs through concept design, risk management, and manufacturing optimization.
  • Maintain engineering documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal design control systems.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a STEM discipline.
  • Advanced degree with at least 2 years of technical work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of technical work experience for candidates with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry, preferably within the medical device sector (preferred).
  • Experience supporting New Product Development (preferred).
  • Proficiency with modeling, simulation, and analytical tools such as MATLAB, ANSYS, or Monte Carlo methods (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Design Controls, Risk Management, Verification & Validation, and reliability engineering principles.
  • Work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.
