Senior Manager, Project Engineering

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor a team of 15 project engineers to execute air vehicle modification and modernization programs.
• Provide technical mentorship and leadership coaching to Program Chief Engineers and Project Engineers.
• Manage proposal generation, Earned Value Management, estimates-to-complete, and product technology roadmaps.
• Forecast manpower needs and conduct searches to recruit and onboard new project engineers.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering quality and delivery through the use of metrics.
• Establish performance expectations, methods, and tools for the project engineering department.
• Support training and career development for all project engineering staff.
• Participate in strategic planning and business aspects of the engineering department to impact functional results.

What we're looking for

• Must be a US Citizen with a minimum of a Secret DoD Security Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• Minimum of 16 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in Project Engineering or Technical Project Management roles.
• Experience in Air Vehicle and Systems Integration.
• Working knowledge within a relevant technical field such as Aero-Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or Software.
• Experience with process improvement e.g. CMMI and Six-Sigma.
• Experience in prior leadership capacity (preferred).
• Proficient in leading root cause analysis, troubleshooting complex technical situations, and leading continuous improvement efforts (preferred).
• Proficient in people management, evaluations and team building (preferred).
• Experience with FAA (STC) and Military (MTC) certification activities (preferred).
• Demonstrated understanding of interaction between engineering design, program management, manufacturing, and supply chain processes (preferred).
