JOB TITLE: Senior Lead Software Engineer - Python / NoSQL As a Senior Lead Software Engineer within the Corporate Technology - Risk Technology team, you will join an agile team focused on building and delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology products. Your daily responsibilities include developing high-quality production code, reviewing and debugging code, and providing technical guidance to teams, contractors, and vendors. You will drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed while establishing validation standards for secure coding and automated testing. You must possess deep technical expertise in Python, Pandas, NoSQL databases, Databricks, and Cloud technologies. You will solve complex design and functionality problems independently, ensuring responsible AI use and operational stability within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to support critical risk technology functions.

What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and external vendors.
Drive the adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve delivery speed and code quality.
Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing.
Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations through key architectural decisions.
Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in specific technical areas of focus.
Advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and Software Development Life Cycle practices within the engineering community.
Apply cloud-native experience and automation capabilities to improve value across the development toolchain.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages including Python, Pandas, NoSQL databases, Databricks, and Cloud.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, review, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
Experience coaching senior engineers and leads on compliant AI usage patterns and controls.
Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
Deep technical expertise with strong leadership and architecture and design experience.
Practical cloud native experience.
