As a Senior Lead Software Engineer within the Commercial and Investment Banking Data Analytics Payments Team, you will join an agile team focused on building and delivering trusted, scalable technology products. You will execute software solutions, produce architecture artifacts, and manage the deployment and operation of ClickHouse clusters across on-prem and cloud environments. Your daily work involves designing secure AWS infrastructure, maintaining infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK, and automating provisioning processes. You must possess deep expertise in ClickHouse internals, Linux systems engineering, and big data technologies including Apache Spark, Glue, Redshift, and Iceberg. Additionally, you will manage containerization via Kubernetes and lead the adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering practices to solve complex data platform infrastructure challenges.

What you'll do

Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting for complex problems.
Produce architecture and design artifacts while ensuring code development meets all design constraints.
Deploy and operate ClickHouse clusters across on-prem and cloud environments, including scaling and disaster recovery.
Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS infrastructure solutions.
Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
Implement and manage security best practices including IAM, encryption, and network security.
Lead the adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering practices across teams.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 8+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on experience deploying and supporting multi-node ClickHouse clusters in production.
Strong knowledge of ClickHouse internals including MergeTree family, partitions, primary keys, compression, and distributed query execution.
Experience with ClickHouse Keeper / ZooKeeper coordination and cluster topology design.
Experience with Linux systems engineering and troubleshooting CPU, memory, disk, and networking.
Expertise in AWS cloud platform, big data technologies (Apache Spark, Glue, Redshift), and data lake/lakehouse architectures (Iceberg).
Experience with containerization/orchestration and automation using Kubernetes and Terraform.
Experience leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering practices across teams.
