What you'll do

  • Design and implement core components of the iCloud platform infrastructure.
  • Develop system-level frameworks and APIs using Swift or Objective-C.
  • Build performant system daemons by working with network and file system stacks.
  • Implement cryptographic protection for cloud data to ensure user privacy.
  • Create scalable features and protocols in collaboration with server-side teams.
  • Craft clear, usable APIs for internal and external adopters.
  • Develop complex systems capable of seamless error recovery and high reliability.
  • Integrate new cloud capabilities into the core of Apple's operating systems.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong programming skills in Swift and/or Objective-C.
  • Experience building on Apple Platforms including macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS.
  • Experience working with and building system-level frameworks and APIs.
  • Experience working with client-server architectures and network protocols in a distributed system.
  • Proven track record of working on rapid development cycles and shipping software on tight schedules.
  • Bachelor's degree or above in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experience.
  • Experience with Swift concurrency (preferred).
  • Experience with security, privacy, cryptography concepts, event-based programming, or inter-process communication (preferred).
